Happy New Year ! ! !

Hello everyone. Hope all of you had a joyous Christmas. Here are a couple of photos of our Christmas decorations here in Highlands. I will add more as I have time. We have had just a dusting of snow, but for the most part the weather has been quite perfect. Temps down into the 20's at night but back up into the 50's and sunny and bright during the day. Feels like holiday time without freezing to death.

Jonathan and Stefanie are off to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN today but Jack and I elected to stay behind to run some errands and wait for a call-back from the plumber. Unfortunately our hot water heater seems to be giving us fits today. Only lukewarm water after the first two showers this morning. Lets hope the plumber is not out of town. Why is it that these things only happen when you have guests??? Oh well.....hopefully the plumber will return my call and have us back up and running before long.

I just received an email from my cousin, Bill, in Laconia, NH with the promised photos of Amelie's wedding in Paris last summer. I thought this would be the best way to share them so here they are......

Merry Christmas Y'all......

Jack and I are spending the Christmas/New Year's holidays in Highlands, NC. Jack's son, Jonathan, and his girlfriend from Miami will be joining us here for three or four days. I have four small trees in the living room, along with all my Santa and snowmen figures so we really look like the holidays here. Not much for decorations outside, although I did put 400 multi-colored lights on the deck and, of course, the obligatory wreath on the door (which I made). Doesn't look as though we will have any snow this year. We have had several days of rain, but today the sun is shining brightly and it is an incredibly beautiful day. Later we are off to Asheville for a little bit of shopping, including a stop at Lowe's to check out all the discounted Christmas decorations. Looks like a lovely day for the hour and a half drive over there. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a very happy, healthy New Year......
